State of Project Segfault: May & June 2026
Hey there, this past two months again had little activity due to exams et. al., but we do have some important security-related news (nothing bad!).
ssh-keysign-pwn
We were thankfully notified by a user pretty early that our pubnix was vulnerable to ssh-keysign-pwn based privilege escalation attack. Thankfully it wasn't abused, but we shutdown pubnix till the patch was applied just to be safe.
Services moved to Pizza-1/EU Node
To lighten load on the IN Node, we have moved plausible, ntfy, mozhi, gothub and healthchecks onto our EU Node. This should lighten node on IN Node and make it more performant as well.
Go-Away for Gitea, coming soon..
Once Midou is free, go-away will be implemented on our gitea instance to reduce spam.
By the way, we do have a PSF VPN
Following India's temporary ban on telegram, I rediscovered the fact that I had setup a VPN on both EU Node and IN Node for some internal purposes long back. We have now decided to open it up for invite-based use. If you want a VPN in either Germany or India, email contact@projectsegfau.lt
That's about it though, thanks for sticking around!
